Here is a quick guide to each level (or day) in Plants vs. Zombies 2: Wild West in the game Plants Vs. Zombies 2: It’s about time game.  This zone or world introduces a new mechanic.  Mine Carts!  Plant a plant inside of a mine cart, and then drag the mine cart up and down along it’s track.  It will take the plant with it.  Giving you the ability to move plants up and down is a huge bonus.  However, it comes with the drawback of having to sacrifice plots of soil, as they are taken up by the tracks.

Day by Day Guide

Play the Plants vs Zombies 2: Pirate Seas zone before starting this zone!

NOTE: Colorful Text on a Plant means it’s on a minecart.

Wild West Day 1

Plant Selection: Sunflower, Pea Shooter, WallNut, Potato Mine, Iceberg Lettuce, Anything Else

| Peashooter, Peashooter | Peashooter | Peashooter, Peashooter |
Plant Food: None, the purpose here is to practice dragging the mine carts to defeat tough zombies.

Plan on planting your Sunflowers in the second column.  When the first zombie appears, plant a pototo mine in its lane and let that kill it.  You can use Iceberg Letttuce to slow zombies further.  Keep planting sunflowers untill you fill the second row.  Once you have the sun, plant a peashooter on the mine cart in the first column.  This level is only here to give you some practice getting use to the minecart mechanic which will be present in all of the Wild West levels.  You will just have to drag the cart around to have it be shooting zombies at all times.  Use Walluts as needed when groups of zombies spawn in a single lane.  Plant away to make it look like the above screenshot and you’ll be golden.
If you get into trouble, use the Plant Food on the Pea Shooter to get rid of a few zombies in one lane.

Wild West Day 2

| Sun | Split, Split | Dragon, Dragon | Wall |
The first column you will fill with Sun producing sunflowers.  In the second column, plant the Split Peas.  You’ll want one on the mine cart, and one filling in the rest of the tiles.  The third column plant Snap Dragons.  Fourth column gets walls.  If you wish, you can try to make it be two columns of snap dragons, then the nuts, but plan ahead for this.
Use the plant food on your Split Peas or Snap Dragons against tough zombies that are endangering your plants, or the prospector zombies if they start feasting on your flowers from behind your lines.
If you have the Cherry Bomb, that is another good just in case option to keep around in-case things go bad.

Wild West Day 3

| Sun, Repeater | Sun, Repeater | Dragon | Wall |

The first two columns will get Sunflowers on the non-minecart tiles, while the minecarts should get Repeaters.  You should place Snap-Dragons in the next column, followed by a protective wall.
Use the plant food on your Split Peas or Snap Dragons against tough zombies that are endangering your plants, or the prospector zombies if they start feasting on your flowers from behind your lines.
Use the Cherry Bomb against the Pianist Zombie to stop them from dancing all over the place and running over your plants!

Wild West Day 4 (Mini Game)

Zombies come out of certain lanes.  Pay attention to which lane they are going to be coming out of when placing your plants.
The Split Pea should be used on the two long tracks.  Make sure to position it so that it can take out Prospector Zombies.
The ThreePeater should be placed in the first and third columns, not on the mine cart.
PeaShooters go on the short rails initially, and get replaced by Repeaters later on.
Once you get to the final wave, defeat the Buckethead Zombie for his plant food and you can use that against the Pianist Zombie that appears.

Wild West Day 5

| Bonk Choy | Twin Sun | Dragon | Dragon | Wall | Spikeweed |
Start out by placing one Twin Sunflower in the second column, and followup with placing two Snap Dragons in the fourth column, second and fourth row.  When dealing with Sun and Snap Dragons in a level, try to start out this way all the time, that way you get basic zombie coverage in all lanes.  In the first column, use a Bonk Choy (It will take care of the Prospector Zombies for you).  The second Column gets the Twin Sunflowers while the Third and Fourth Columns get Snap Dragons.  The fifth column is reserved for Walls.  Use Spikeweed to fill in the rest of the tiles, starting from the sixth column, and moving outwards.
Save Cherry Bombs and Chili Beans for sticky situations or strong zombies.

Wild West Day 6

Place three Coconut Cannons on the mine carts.  These are your rolling powerhouses this match.  For column four, put three Snap Dragons in the second, third, and fourth rows.  Place Wall Nuts in the first and fifth row, and all of the fifth column.
Try to save the cannon fire for big clusters of zombies, and the Poncho wearing Zombies.  Use the cannons often, but make each hit count.  You don’t want to waste too many shots or else you’ll wind up in trouble.
Use Plant food against Pianists and Poncho Zombies, preferably use it on the Coconut Cannons.

Wild West Day 7

| Twin Sun | Pea Pod | Dragon | Wall | Spikeweed |
The first Column gets Twin Sunflowers, second column gets the Pea Pod on the mine cart, third column gets Snap Dragons, fourth is for Wall Nuts, Fifth and on for Spikeweed.  Move the Pea Pod as needed to make sure it is always attacking something.
Use Plant food when you feel like you are getting mobbed.  Use Cherry bomb and Chili Bean when the going gets rough.

Wild West Day 8 (Mini Game Gargantuar plus World Key)

| Split Pea | Pea Pod | Pea Pod | Pea Pod | Wall | Pea Pod or Split Pea |
You want to ideally place your Split peas all the way in the back in the first column.  Pea Pods should occupy all of the Mine Carts.  Upgrade them all the way asap.  Right after the mine carts, place Wall Nuts in the fifth column, and then any extra pea pods/plants can go in front of the wall nut formation.
Use Plant food against the Gargantuars.  You’ll need it.
Chili Beans should be saved for Pianists, Poncho Zombies, or Buckethead Zombies only.  It is a waste if a regular zombie consumes one, so try to make sure only the big guys eat it.

Wild West Day 9 (Survive with Given Plants)

| Winter Melon | Sun | Split Pea | Lightning, Lightning | Wall | None | None |
Once you can afford it, a Winter Melon belongs in the mine cart in the first column.  Use Sunflowers in the second column.  Third column is for Split Peas.  Fourth column gets Lightning (both on and off the mine cart).  Follow up with a line of Wall Nuts in the fifth column.
Make sure to keep the lightning on the tracks moving to dodge zombies that may get past it.  Make sure the Winter Melon is hitting the strong zombies, or big groups of zombies to maximize its effects.

Wild West Day 10

| Lightning, Lightning | Sun | Dragon | Dragon | Wall |
First Column gets Lightning (both on and off the mine cart).  The second column is reserved for Sun Flowers.  Third and fourth columns get Snap Dragons.  Fifth column will be a Wall Nut on the mine cart.  Use the Wall Nut as needed.
Use Cherry Bombs and/or Chili Beans against the Buckethead Zombies and the Pianists.

Wild West Day 11 (Spend no more than 500 Sun)

You don’t have to plant any sunflowers in this level.  You’ll get all you need just falling from the sky.  Put a Wall Nut on the third column Mine Cart.  Place Snap Dragons in the second column, in the second and fourth rows.  Use the Wall Nut on a cart as needed to keep them alive.  Place additional Wall Nuts on the first and fifth rows, beside the Snap Dragons.  This should allow the Snap Dragons ample time to kill their targets.
Use Potato mines to kill the first two Conehead zombies that appear.  Place the potato mines at least four tiles ahead of the zombie to get em!
Use Iceberg lettuce to slow down the zombies for a while.  It costs you zero sun so you may as well take advantage of it.

Wild West Day 12 (Mini-Game)

NOTE: You can use the “View” option below the “Pause” icon to view the zombies.  Adjust the formation then deploy the new plant, repeat.
Boomerang: Plant them on mine carts only!
Lightning Reed: Place them on land only (1st 3 columns), not on mine carts!
Focus at least 3 attackers on Buckethead zombies then move to the lesser ones.

Wild West Day 13

| Melon | Melon | Twin Sun | Split Pea | Dragon | Wall |

First two columns with mine carts should be reserved for two Melons.  Plant Twin sunflowers in the third column, Split Peas in the fourth column and Dragons on column number five.  Give them a Wall nut defense in the sixth column over.
Plant the Sunflower and Snapdragons in row 2 and 4 first.  Make sure to keep the Melon-pults moving once you get them situated to make sure they keep blasting away at the stronger zombies (conehead and above).  Use Cherry Bombs at your discretion against zombies that threaten your existing plants.

Wild West Day 14

| Twin Sun | Melon | Dragon, Dragon | Dragon, Dragon | Wall |

First column will get Twin Sunflowers. Second column should have a Melon Pult.  Third and fourth columns put SnapDragons on the land tiles, as well as the minecarts.  Fifth column is reserved for Wallnuts.  Use Cherry Bombs against the Pianist or any zombies that threaten your existing plants.

Wild West Day 15 (Don’t Lose More Than 2 Plants!)

| Twin Sun, Melon | None, Melon | Dragon (2 only!) | Wall |
Here is another gimmic level, where you play normally, but you cannot allow for more than two plants to die.  Plants that have an effect on use count as losing the plant, so avoid using them.  Examples include potato mine, iceberg lettuce, and the fart bean.
In the first column, put Twin Sunfowers and the MelonPult on the cart.  Second column use another MelonPult.  In the third column, plant two Snap-Dragons in the 2nd and fourth rows.  Use walls in the fourth column.
Make sure to move the melonpults to maximum effect.  You should use available plant foods on the melonpult or snapdragons in order to save your plants from destruction.  It can also be used on the Wallnuts if they are near death.

Wild West Day 16 (Protect The Plants)

| None | Twin Sun | Split Pea | Dragon | Wall | None | Wall |
Plant Food: Wall-Nut placed on Mine Cart, then Any.

Split Pea: Complete last or place in case a Prospector zombie appears early.

Wild West Day 20 (Mini Game)

Plant Food: Wall-Nut, and/or any Pea-type plant, move to attack multiple rows!
Wall-Nut: Place them on the 5th column, move it in front of Chicken Wrangler zombie to block the zombie chickens.
Potato Mines & Chili Beans: Place it on the 6th column against Buckethead and Conehead zombies.

Wild West Day 21 (Spend No More Than 1,750 Sun, Protect The Flowers)

Plant Food: Use on all 3 Wall-Nuts
Place 2 Snapdragons in the 4th column like usual, then set up your Tall-Nuts to protect your Snapdragons.
Note: When the 1st Chicken Wrangler zombie appears, start placing at least 1 or 2 Lightning Reeds to zap the chickens. Block them with your Talls and Walls if needed.
Move the 3 Wall-Nuts to dodge zombies, just let them pass.
Cherry Bomb and Chili Bean: Use it only for the final wave.
Renew Walls or Talls as needed.
